Toluna launches QuickSurvey to find out who is the nation’s favourite childhood character
On Tuesday 28 April 2009 Toluna launched a QuickSurvey on toluna.com asking the nation to vote for their favourite childhood character. A total of 13,000 people responded to the poll. The results of the survey show that Paddington Bear is the nation’s favourite childhood character with 37.5% of the votes followed by Danger Mouse with 27.7% of votes.
Details of the results along with a breakdown of the respondents demographics are featured below.
The nations favourite childhood character (in order of percentage of votes received)
- Paddington Bear – 37.55%
- Danger Mouse – 27.75%
- Super Ted – 16.66%
- He-Man – 11.81%
- Banana man – 6.24%

Respondents categorised by age group
- 49.20% - 16-34 year olds
- 39.57% - 35-54 year olds
- 11.23% - 55+

Respondents categorised by gender
- 65.04% of the respondents were female who voted Paddington Bear as their favourite childhood character with 44% of the votes.
- 34.96% of the respondents were male who voted Danger Mouse as their favourite childhood character with 35.2% of the votes.
