Toluna QuickSurvey finds that only 52% of the UK population voted in the European elections
Monday 8 June 2009: Today Toluna launched a survey in the UK asking 2,000 memebrs of the public about the Euopean Elections. The results from this survey are as follows:
Question 1 - Did you vote in this year's Euro elections?
- 52% - Yes
- 47% - No

Question 2 - Why did you not vote?
- 5% - Did not know it was happening
- 13% - Did not have the time
- 35% - Could not be bothered
- 4% - Did not know how
- 42% - Other reason

Question 3 - If you had voted, which party would you have voted for?
- 23% - Conservative
- 16% - Labour
- 13% - Lib Dem
- 14% - UKIP
- 9% - BNP
- 24% - Other

Question 4 - Are you aware that the BNP have won 2 seats in European Parliament?
- 79% - Yes
- 21% - No

Question 5 - Does this bother you?
- 31% - Yes a lot
- 26% - Yes a little
- 31% - No, I am indifferent
- 12% - No, I am glad
