Toluna recognises the privacy concerns of visitors to its sites on the Internet. Specifically, Toluna recognises the importance of protecting the privacy of personally identifiable information collected about the visitors to the Toluna websites. Toluna Group Limited and any of its worldwide subsidiaries and affiliates (“we” “our” and “us”) are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy.

This policy (together with our terms of use and any other documents referred to on it) sets out the basis on which any personal information we collect from you, or that you provide to us, will be processed by us.  Please read the following carefully to understand our views and practices regarding your personal information and how we will treat it. Information you give us. You may give us information about you by filling in forms on our sites or by corresponding with us by phone, e-mail or otherwise. If you create a survey using Toluna QuickSurveys and choose to use advanced survey features, we will collect your billing information for payment of those premium services. Your billing information will only be shared with our service providers so that we can process your payment.

Information we collect about you. With regard to each of your visits to any of our sites we may automatically collect the following information:

  • technical information, including the Internet protocol (IP) address used to connect your computer to the Internet, your login information, browser type and version, time zone setting, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system and platform;
  • information about your visit, including the full Uniform Resource Locators (URL), products you viewed or searched for, page response times, download errors, length of visits to certain pages,] page interaction information (such as scrolling, clicks, and mouse-overs), methods used to browse away from the page and any phone number used to call our customer service number.

Information we receive from other sources. We may receive information about you if you use any of the other websites we operate or the other services we provide .

This helps us to provide you with a good experience when you browse our websites and also allows us to improve our sites. Other Tracking Technologies

Technologies such as cookies, web beacons/web bugs, scripts and tags are used by Toluna and its clients, partners, affiliates, or analytics and service providers. These technologies are used in analysing trends, administering the site, tracking users’ movements around the site and the Internet, and to gather demographic information about our user base as a whole.


We partner with a third party to either display advertising on our website or to manage our advertising on other sites. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organisations for the purposes of fraud protection and credit risk reduction.


EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework: Toluna, (including its USA based company Toluna USA Inc., and each member of the Toluna Group of companies) recognises that the EU has established strict protections regarding the handling of EU Personal Data, including requirements to provide adequate protection for EU Personal Data transferred outside of the EU.  To provide adequate protection for certain EU Personal Data about individuals (including about you and our corporate clients, suppliers, business partners, job applicants and employees received in the USA, Toluna has elected to self-certify to the EU-US Privacy Shield Framework administered by the US Department of Commerce ("Privacy Shield"). Toluna is responsible for the processing of personal information it receives, under the Privacy Shield and subsequently transfers to a third party acting as an agent on its behalf. Toluna adheres to the Privacy Shield Principles of Notice, Choice, Accountability for Onward Transfer, Security, Data Integrity and Purpose Limitation, Access, and Recourse, Enforcement, and Liability.

Binding Arbitration: You may have the option to select binding arbitration for the resolution of your complaint under certain circumstances, provided you have taken the following steps: (1) raised your compliant directly with Toluna and provided us the opportunity to resolve the issue; (2) made use of the independent dispute resolution mechanism identified under the Questions or Complaints paragraph; and (3) raised the issue through the relevant data protection authority and allowed the US Department of Commerce an opportunity to resolve the complaint at no cost to you. U.S. - Swiss Safe Harbor Framework: Toluna complies with the U.S. – Swiss Safe Harbor Framework as set forth by the U.S. Department of Commerce regarding the collection, use and retention of personal data from Switzerland. Social Media Widgets

Our Web site includes Social Media Features, such as the Facebook Like button (and Widgets, such as the Share this button or interactive mini-programs that run on our site).
